Shower Pump Advice and Supply for the Trade

Choosing the right shower pump depends on your water system, property and the performance you need. Speak to Versa for practical advice and help finding a suitable pump for the job.

CHOOSING YOUR SHOWER PUMP

Getting the Right Shower Pump for the Job

The right shower pump starts with understanding the water system. The existing flow, the position of the water storage tank and the outlets you want to supply all influence which pump is suitable.

Whether you’re replacing an existing pump or planning an installation, speak to Versa before choosing a model. Tell us about the system and the performance you need so we can help you explore suitable options and check availability.

Positive Head Shower Pumps

For suitable gravity-fed systems where the natural water flow is sufficient to activate the pump when an outlet opens. Check the chosen model’s minimum flow and installation requirements before specifying.

Negative Head Shower Pumps

For suitable gravity-fed systems where natural flow is too low to activate a positive head pump. Often called universal pumps, these can support installations with little or no natural flow, subject to the model’s requirements.

Twin Impeller Shower Pumps

Designed to boost both hot and cold supplies. Twin impeller describes the pump’s configuration, and models are available for positive head or universal applications, depending on the system.

Pump selection depends on the complete water system. Confirm compatibility and installation requirements with the manufacturer and your installer before purchasing.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Find answers about shower pump selection, replacement and supply. For advice on your particular system or to check product availability, contact the team.

What is the difference between a positive head and negative head shower pump?

A positive head pump needs sufficient natural water flow to activate when an outlet opens. A negative head pump, often called a universal pump, can work where that natural flow is insufficient. The right choice depends on the installation and the manufacturer’s requirements.

What is a twin impeller shower pump?

A twin impeller pump boosts both the hot and cold water supplies. Twin impeller describes the pump’s configuration, rather than its activation method, so models are available for positive head and universal applications.

My shower pump has stopped working. What information should I provide?

Make a note of the pump’s make and model, what happens when you open the shower, and whether the problem affects other outlets. Photographs of the pump and its installation can also help. Contact the team to discuss advice or replacement options, and ask a qualified installer to investigate the fault.
